Food Skil’s Market Garden

The Market Garden aims to create a viable horticultural enterprise on several pieces of land located in 3214. The Market garden will operate as a commercially viable organic fruit and vegetables producer. The Garden will not be a mono-cultural producer, but rather produce a diversity of fruit and vegetables. This social enterprise will also deliver a wide range of community benefits including:

  • Horticultural training.
  • Education about food and organic sustainable farming.
  • Research and education around the use of recycled water for food production.
  • Research and education around the use of compost in food production.
  • Training and work placements, specifically to the residents of Corio and Norlane.
  • Employment
  • Facilitating small owner run enterprises
  • Producing produce specifically for food relief
  • Volunteer roles ‘renumerated’ with set fruit and vegetable boxes
