What is Foodskil?
Foodskil is a social enterprise set up to address food security through growing, retail and wholesale of Fruit and Vegetables
Mission Statement
To improve access to affordable, sustainable, fresh and healthy food.
General Objectives
1. To improve food security in the northern suburbs of Geelong.
2. To provide high quality fruit and vegetables.
3. To improve access to culturally appropriate foods.
4. To provide education and employment opportunities.
5. To create a model of sustainable food systems that benefit the social, economic and environmental needs of the northern suburbs.
6. To encourage the community to develop sustainable food production.
7. To promote the benefits of localised food production.
8. To be inclusive of people of all abilities and backgrounds.
Specific Objectives
1. To be inclusive of as many community organisations as possible.
2. To promote healthy eating.
3. Aim to be transparent in all its dealings
4. Operate with integrity.
5. Aim to operate at the highest of industry standard.
6.To operate a social enterprise market garden in the northern suburbs of Geelong.
7. To operate ‘2 & 5” Fresh Food Markets in the northern suburbs of Geelong.
8. To operate a Community Supermarket in Norlane.
9. To facilitate Food swaps in the Northern suburbs of Geelong.
10. To run an organic growing business that involves and engages our local community
11. To provide training and education that focuses on organic horticulture.
12. To provide training and education that focuses on healthy food choices.
13. To maintain and improve the organisational systems, culture and structure that enables our mission.
